UTL does more than tea parties.  Hello!  We do all parties baby. OK? Host your PROM dinner, reception, party, or other event at The Urban Tea Loft.  We will rent out the entire Loft for your event.  We will even do wedding receptions for guests of 75 or less.  The first two rental hours are free provided food and beverage is purchased.  If you are planning a dinner party..why have it at home?  We can prepare whatever you’d like. I love it when 4-5 couples get together in one of our private rooms. Our rooms have flat screen tvs and IPOD docks so you can even bring your own music. And…we do all the clean-up. The Chandler Jazz Festival is this weekend and we are having live Jazz at The Urban Tea Loft.  Tonight our featured headliner is String Theory. Thsi group includes a guitar player, vocalist and a bass player.  We have enjoyed their music at UTL before and welcome them back tonight.  They will perform from 6:30-9:30.  Tomorrow night our featured performer is The John Shea Duo same time.  John is a master pianist and Warren Jones, bass is from New Orleans.  Come in and have dinner and drinks.  There is no cover… but we ask that you enjoy dinner with a two drink (non-alcoholic drinks included) minimum. Remember, on Saturdays we have Soul Food specials along with our regular menu.  We are serving smothered chops, collards, St Louis styled ribs, catfish, fried okra…etc this weekend.  Temperatures tomorrow will be a cool 75 degrees. A nice day for a meal on the UTL patio! Reservations are recommended.

Ok, I know our dessert case is misleading as it is the first thing people see when they come into our restaurant or drive by.  It is truly a beacon of light that calls the most discerning patron to come in and take a look.  For this we are grateful.  We realize they are appealing and appetizing.  We’d just like to remind everyone that we are an Award-Winning, full service restaurant and bar.  We serve breakfast on the weekends (open at 10 am), lunch, and dinner.  Try us out for breakfast and dinner to see what you are missing.

Just posted some photos of foods from our lunch menu under the image gallery area on our website. I am no pro with websites so I need to get my web guy to post these correctly.  We are excited that we are adding new items to our menu all the time.  Our Executive Chef, Don Santos is doing a fantastic job bringing the flava. We got him from the Flemings/Roy Family.  Our kitchen crew is fantastic.  They include Don Santos, Tom LaVoie, and Angel Ortiz as the main players.  Dinner photos coming soon.  Look for coupons in the AZ Republic and the SanTan Sun News.

We are so excited.  We hired Channelle Richardson to come and take photos of our foods so we can get them posted on line.  Our new menu is fantastic and the response has been great!  We have an Urban Cheesesteak that is served with peppers and onions and a chicken sandwich with goat cheese that is so flavorful.  Those following us on Twitter received special offers and free teatinis this week. So its a great idea to get on Twitter and follow UTL.

We are proparing to get ourt new teas in.  So far we have gotten in the following Rooibos Teas that are new:

African Ginger, Madagascar Vanilla, Rooibos Chai, & Natural Rooibos

We also have a coconut poochong tea and are very excited about our tea champagne coming in.  It is fermented like a fine wine and taste like a white jasmine champagne. Wonderful. We hope it is in for our Saturday tasting!!

On the menu for Soul Food this weekend, smothered pork chops, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, catfish, ribs and fried okra.  Good eatin’.  See you at The Loft!

I want to take a moment to Thank All of You who continually support The Urban Tea Loft.  Those of you who came to celebrate the Presidential Inauguration and our Special Pre-Valentine and Valentine’s events deserve extra thanks.   Although the times are challenging for all of us, together we will make it through.  Hang in there!!

Yesterday we did an etiquette class for a group of 9 Girl Scouts.  They were delightful and very smart.  You could tell that their parents and troop leaders are doing a great job with these young ladies.  I appreciate their enthusiasm for learning the proper fork, knife and spoon to use with different foods and the proper way to behave in restaurants. It was fun.
